2011 Syracuse Nationals

The Pinto Stampede at the 2011 Syracuse Nationals

July 15, 16, 17, 2011 - NY State Fairgrounds, Syracuse, NY

Held every July at the New York State Fairgrounds. Classics, Customs, Hot Rods & Muscle Cars (up to 1980) Over 7,300 cars, 82,000 people and 350 vendors from all across the United States and Canada. This show has the reputation as one of the best run, most enjoyable automotive events in the nation and largest on the RIGHT Coast!

A Note From Norm Bagi: We were invited up by Mark Oliver who owns a Brown Mercury Bobcat. We had a total of 5 Pintos and a Bobcat at the show. It was very hot and the show was a first come first serve show, no designated spots it was park anywhere on the fair grounds. So cars were parked around buildings, in alleyway, on the grass, everywhere. Lots of cars came down from Canada and some pretty exotic stuff.

We raised the Pinto Stampede banners for the Wounded Warrior Project and the Pinto's were a hit as usual amongst the crowds. Mark was great and invited my family over for dinner, showed us his other Pinto and his Mustang II. Met some other Pinto owners and we were glad to see Dick and his Red Blown Pinto Dragster again who was at Carlisle, PA for the 40th Anniversary Celebration.

This summer we were also asked to help out with a fundraiser at the Pocono Pistol Club. They had a shooting competition and no I didn't win. I had the Boss Pinto parked out front and had a video set up inside with all the Pinto Stampede news coverage and videos. I was told they raised almost 6 thousand dollars. It was a neat event, met some really nice people and had fun firing my handgun.

My family and I also attended the Rockland Boulders vs. New York Federals minor league baseball game on Saturday, August 13,2011 from 7:05 PM to 10:00 PM. We set up with some representatives from the Wounded Warrior Project and worked a fund raising table taking in collections from the patrons. We also had Americas cheerleaders with us at this event.
